COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A driver waiting for a stop light to change on Barrett Parkway says she feels lucky to be alive after a dump truck lost control and buried half her car in dirt.
It happened shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The dump truck rolled into several cars stopped at the light near I-575 and caused a chain reaction damaging eight cars, according to police
One person went to the hospital, and paramedics checked out more than a dozen others on site. Several victims drove themselves to the emergency room, police confirmed.
Several drivers told Cavitt that the dump truck’s driver told police his brakes failed to work. Police plan on checking out the truck later and say charges are pending.
